Vehicle: 2013 Audi Q7 TDI. Issue: Periodically charges battery at too low of a voltage (~11.6V). Correct voltage is in the ~13.4V range. If not caught, it will drain the battery completely during a 15-20mi trip. Doesn't happen all the time and doesn't change while driving.
Some Audi cars have a plastic cover on top of the battery. Remove the screws that hold the cover in place, and pull out the cover to access the battery. Connect the red clamp (+) to the positive terminal. Connect the black clamp (-) to the negative terminal. Allow the battery to charge for a few hours. Monitor the vehicle for the first couple
I have an Audi Q7 3.0TDi Quattro S-Line on a 56 plate and have a battery drain issue. Car battery is fine during the day and charges up to 100% but when left idle either over night or during the day, the battery drains down as low as 10%.
The following users liked this post: Just replaced my battery two weeks ago and the warning disappeared immediately. One thing I learned in the process is the keyfob LED stops operating when its battery is too low. If your keyfob LED turns on with key presses, then the issue is the car. If not, it's the keyfob.
Engine Cranks But Won't Start. Vehicle is a 2011 Q7 Prestige S-Line 3.0 TFSI with 80,000 miles. As the title states the engine will crank for 5 seconds or so, wont start, then just quits trying. After 2 or 3 attempts, it will eventually start, sometimes with the assistance of a tap of the throttle. Dealer says the problem is a drained battery.
7. Low Battery. You might not think that the car battery has anything to do with the ignition, but it does. If the battery has been discharged, you might have trouble retrieving the key. You can tell the battery has something to do with the stuck situation if you can’t start the vehicle either. Thankfully, this situation rarely occurs.
IfbOk5. Fixing the fuel pump is not going to start the engine unless the bad starter motor is replaced with a new one. Conclusion. Before you start troubleshooting the reason why the car is not starting even after replacing the fuel pump, it is wise to inspect the components based on whether you notice the engine cranking or not.
The battery was dead when I tried starting it, so we charged up the battery, car started fine but the MMI screen will not turn on. We ended up putting a brand new battery in and still the same issue. Everything was a 100% working before we took the oil cooler off to change 2 O-rings.
